EMERALD Biography

he band Emerald was founded in February 1998, consisting of: Manolis Zafeirakis (guitar / vocals), who also is the founder of the band, xis Antaloudakis (percussion / guitar), Elina Karniaoutaki (piano / vocals / synth), Helen Deliousi (violin) and Sofia Tzanaki (vocals).
After a cooperative effort of three months, they move on towards the recording of their first work with the self-funded CD entitled "Under The Veil Of Eternal Heaven", a release that was very warmly welcomed by an audience of different ages and musical tastes.
The daily and periodical press (TOLMI newspaper, STIGMES, METAL INVADER, ALTARS OF METAL, METAL HAMMER), publicize positive critiques and the local radio presents interviews and samples of the new-coming group. Local concerts followed, something that brought Emerald very close to their audience. At this part, their course is interrupted due to military obligations and Sofia Tzanaki departs from the band.
Two years after, the band reforms and the members create their own studio. They decide to reestablish "Under The Veil Of Eternal Heaven" with the addition of two new songs.
For a whole year they work out the new pattern of the album, which offers the group's identity with a rich orchestration and fresh ideas and, while being more mature, they dare to do important changes in the structure of their work with alternate styles. In this new effort of theirs, Helen Nestora is on the vocals.
In 2004 Sound & Vision releases the compilation "Greece Attacks", in which "Images From A Perfect Passion" is included, which is the self-titled song of the new Emerald album, that is now available in 1000 pieces in the market.
